INNOVEX performed a technical evaluation of soil and groundwater impacts in the vicinity of a seawall installed as part of a Final Remedy for Petroleum, Oil and Lubricants (POL) contaminants.  The seawall was designed to contain known POL contaminants and protect against impact to the San Francisco Bay, however in 2012, contaminants were identified on the seaward side of the seawall.  INNOVEX was retained to provide a third-party analysis of the contaminants, and ultimately determined that the POL found outside of the seawall were of a different nature and character of the POL contained within the seawall, suggesting that the seawall continued to be effective as a Final Remedy.
